Cambodia is a country that surprises at every step, an interweaving of millenial history, vibrant nature, and deep traditions. The journey begins in the bustling capital of Phnom Penh, where ancient royal palaces coexist with buzzing markets. Going up along the Mekong, we will reach Kratie and Koh Trong, places suspended in time where life flow slowly between fields, traditional villages and river views. Continuing towards Kampong Thom, we will encounter one of the country’s most fascinating symbols: the rare Irrawaddy freshwater dolphin. The route will then lead us to Siem Reap, gateway to the immense complex of Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture and spiritual heart of Cambodia. Not far away is Kulen National Park , with its sacred waterfall and roots in Khmer history, while the floating village of Kampong Pluk offers an authentic look at life pn lake Tonlé Sap. The road continues to Koh Ker, the ancient Khmer capital, nestled in the jungle, where solitary temples and monumental pyramids evoke the charm of a glourious forgotten era. In Battambang, in the other hand, we will discover the most genuine side of the country: the curious bamboo train that crossess the countryside and the suggestive Cave of Bats, from which thousands of specimens emerge at sunset, creating unique natural spectacles. The trip ends with relaxation on the island of Koh Rong, a small paradise of white beaches, crystal clear waters and a slow pace, ideal for letting yourself be enveloped by tropical peace before returning.
